Ada's father was mine surveyor Charles James Homer (1837-1893) and her mother was Mary Ann Rixon (1856-1942). In a case reported in the Staffordshire Advertiser - Saturday 18 November 1922, it was stated that Homer had two families but remained married to his first wife who died in 1911. His four children with Mary Rixon, were born out of wedlock. Ada was registered at birth as Ada Homer Rixon (ref: England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915).
Ada's husband A C T Veasey became an army officer and served in the Gallipoli Campaign during WWI. He stood for parliament after the war in the Isle of Wight, and although popular failed to be elected.
Ada died in a care home in East Preston, called Seacroft in Sea Lane, on the 12 February 1974. Her daughter, Naomi, lived just a short distance from the care home.
