Sister M. Ernest Budzinski, CSFN, (Rosalia Budzinski), died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in the 94th year of life and the 77th year as a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Sister Ernest, born in Erie, Pa., was a registered nurse anesthetist, whose education as a high school student was at Mt. Nazareth Academy, Pittsburgh, where she graduated in 1934. In 1945, she received her nursing certificate from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Altoona and in 1947 completed her studies in anesthesiology at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Chicago, Ill. Sister served as a nurse/anesthetist in Pittsburgh and Altoona. Sister was also co-Manager of John Paul II Plaza and Just-Inn-Transition, Pittsburgh. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Theophila Budzinski; and siblings, Walter Budzinski, Helen Niedzielski, Edward Budzinski and Frances Sundy. She is survived by nieces and nephews.

Sr Ernest went home to her Lord just 7 weeks short of her 95th birthday. She had been in Religious Life for over 75 years.
Sister's greatest joy was to witness the beautification of CSFN's Foundress Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd (Franceska Siedleska) in Rome in 1989.
