Hastings resident Rodney “Ron” E. Adams, 68, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska.

Graveside service is 10:00 am, Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Lee Wigert officiating and Military Honors by the Adams County Honor Guard. DeWitt Funeral Home in handling arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to his family for a later designation.

Ron was born June 9, 1949, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Clarence “Curly” and Virginia (Lang) Adams. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School with the class of 1969. Ron served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He traveled and lived in many different cities in the United States. Ron retired as a cook in Spring Field, Missouri in 2013. He was soft-spoken with a tender heart and always helped others.

Ron is survived by his sisters, Madjil (Jim) Clark of Hastings, NE, and LeEtta (Tom) Sherlock of Dakota City, NE; nieces and nephews, Anthony Clark, Daniel T. Clark, Patricia Schopp, Cynthia Schopp, Ginny Clark and Clyde Clark; along with numerous great nieces and nephews and his cat, Simba.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
