She is the second wife of my great-grandfather Robert Elmer Van Dusen. She was 5 years older than my grandmother, Ellen Beatrice Van Dusen, his daughter, and Grandma Van didn't like that. Great Grandpa Van married Viola sometime before 1940 but after 1930 and after Grandma Van's mother, Harriet Hartwell passed away. Great Grandpa was married to Harriet for 24 years when she passed away. Robert and Viola were married about 29 years when he passed away. Viola died 14 years after my great grandfather. Viola is buried at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 3997 Vestal Road, Vestial, New York 13850, 607-797-8407.
