"Body Aflame, Man Leaps to Death From Hotel Room"
"Francis DeMoss, about 48, leaped to his death Monday night from a third-floor window of the Logan hotel, 1428 Lawrence street, his body wrapped in flames.
The Denver medical examiner's office reported DeMoss died in a police ambulance after he had flung himself, fully dressed and shrouded in burning bedclothes, from the hotel window.
Assistant Fire Chief John Horan, who responded to a fire alarm at the hotel with seven fire companies, said he believed DeMoss had been smoking in bed and was asleep when the mattress and bedding caught fire."
