William Hollis Akins, Sr., 84, of Forney passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 am Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Lawson Road Baptist Church, 515 E. Lawson Rd., Dallas, TX 75253. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper. Richard Harris will officiate.
William was born May 29, 1933 in Greeley, Colorado to Harold and Harriet Shut Akins.
Survivors include his wife, Carilyn Akins of Forney, Texas; children, William H. Akins, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, Debra Kay Sinclair and husband, Mitchell of Wilton, California, Daniel Chris Akins and wife, Marilyn of Garland, Texas, Christine Lynn Beeler and husband, Jon of Garland, Texas, Cheryl Ann Cabiness of Holly Lake, Texas; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
William was a heavy machine operator for many years then he retired as a pastor after many years and enjoyed helping with the Samaritans Purse. He was a member of Lawson Road Baptist Church.
