Ossie Burrow, age 88, went to be with her Lord Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Jayne Nidiffer, 1014 Frosty Lane, Elizabethton, following a lengthy illness. She had previously been a resident of Ivy Hall Nursing Home until December, 2005. A native of Ashe County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Maude Miller Bare. Mrs. Burrow was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She loved to cook and regularly cooked Wednesday night meals at the church and retired as cook from Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burrow was preceded in death by her husband Harry Eugene Burrow, six brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, Debbie Kay Ensor and two great-granddaughters, Haley and Megan Burrow.
Survivors are two sons, Charles Terry Burrow, Roger Dale Burrow, both of Elizabethton, four daughters, Charlotte Jean Deloach, Patsy Peters, Virginia "Jenny" Hodge, D. Jayne Nidiffer, all of Elizabethton, sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Burley Bare, Greensboro, NC and one sister, Betty White, High Point, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Ms. Burrow will be conducted at 8 pm Tuesday, September 26 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Eric Eggers, Rev. Bobby Burrow and Rev. Dennis Deese officiating. Music will be under the direction of Patty Hodge, soloist and Kristel Headly, pianist.
The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 27 in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
