DEWAYNE EDWARD "EDDIE" SKIPPER, 40, of Duncan, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
Funeral was at 9 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Duncan with the Rev. Clif Cummings, pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Fort Sill National Cemetery under direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Eddie was born Nov. 30, 1966, in Little Rock, Ark., to Joe and Dorothy Skipper. He grew up in Arkansas and graduated from North East High School in North Little Rock.
He was a veteran of both Iraqi wars, with service in the Marine Corps and Army National Guard.
He married Brenda Kay Laws, the daughter of Jerry and Mary Laws of Duncan, on March 13, 2006. He was employed by Hydra Rig Co. in Duncan. He was a member of Lynchview Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
Eddie was a great husband and father, and a great friend of many. He loved his family very much and enjoyed being a part of their lives.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home; two stepsons, Alexander Laws and Robert Laws, both of the home; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Berger of the home; a son, Jacob Skipper of Little Rock; stepsons by a former marriage, Jeffrey Pitts, Johnathen Pitts and Kaylen Pitts, all of Little Rock; his father, Joe Edd Skipper of Little Rock; a sister, Terri Jo Carle and her husband Tim and their children Holly and Bradley, all of North Carolina; and his grandmother, Edith Skipper of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Skipper, and grandfather, Nevelle Skipper.
