Mrs. Harriett Torrens Dead.

Mrs. Harriett M. Torrens, who lived at 1027 Mechanic, died at her home this morning at 4:35 o'clock.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue funeral home. The Rev. J.C. Brogan, pastor of the Admire Methodist church, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Phillips cemetery northeast of Emporia.

Mrs. Torrens was born July 16, 1861, in Marietta, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Campbell. She came with her parents to Illinois in 1877, and to Lyon county in 1882. She married William J. Torrens November 26, 1878, in Oakdale, Ill., and they came to Emporia in 1939. Mr. Torrens died in Emporia December 13, 1944. Mrs. Torrens was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving her are one son, David G. Torrens, 634 Prairie; five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kulander, Rt. 5; Mrs. Hattie Phillips. of Admire; Mrs. Lillian Schott, 302 East Twelfth; and Mrs. Katherine Lowry, of Olpe; two brothers, Alex and Willie Campbell, of Oakland, Calif.; 10 granddaughters, eight grandsons, 39 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Torrens Funeral Sunday

Funeral services for Mrs. Harriet M. Torrens, who lived at 1027 Mechanic and who died Thursday morning, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roberts-Blue funeral home. The Rev. J.C. Brogan, pastor of the Admire Methodist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Phillips cemetery.

The name of a daughter, Mrs. Lucina Wilson, 911 Neosho, was omitted from the list of survivors in Thursday's Gazette.
