Eva Lee Wilkinson, 89, of Wichita Falls, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2008, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, with the Rev. Charles Bartlett, pastor of Anchor Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

A daughter of the late Mary M. and Charles W. Baker, she was born February 23, 1918, in a tent in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. A Native American, she was a registered member of the Cherokee Nation. In 1934, she married Charles Martin Wilkinson near Borger, Texas. He preceded her in death in November of 1984. A homemaker for most of her life, she was also a Baptist. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Wilkinson and two brothers, Ogal Baker and Paul Baker.

Survivors include her daughters, Pat Stone and husband, Don of Wichita Falls; Neata McAden and husband, Don of Wichita Falls; sons Charles M. Wilkinson, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Wichita Falls; and Richard Wilkinson of Ponder, Texas; two sisters, Hazel Edmiston of Portland, Oregon and Dorothy Baker of Wichita Falls; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Eva Lee will always be remembered for the love she had for her family. She will be remembered for her chicken and dumplings and fried pies that were a favorite of the grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the building fund at Anchor Baptist Church.
