Patrick James Branaugh, 70, of Paris, TX, passed away on June 9, 2018. He had been battling cancer for more than two years.

Pat had been married to the love of his life, Gail, for over 10 years.

Pat was born in Yankton on February 8, 1948. He was raised in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1966.

Pat was a proud veteran of the US Air Force. He joined the service in 1970 and remained in uniform for almost two years. He served in Vietnam and earned the rank of Sergeant.

After the Air Force, Pat resided with his family in South Dakota, living in Sioux Falls, Brandon and Rapid City. In 1982, Patrick moved his wife and two boys to Flower Mound, TX in pursuit of his dream to own a health club. For over 25 years, Pat managed and eventually owned the Flower Mound Health & Athletic Center. Pat retired from the health club industry in 2008.

In retirement, he moved with his wife, Gail, to Paris, TX. He especially enjoyed sharing every moment he could with Gail and spoiling their dog, Gracie. Pat always stayed physically active, running, biking and umpiring youth sports games (probably to help balance his love for ice cream, cheese burgers and popcorn). He also enjoyed baseball trips with his sons, watching his grandchildren grow up and spending time with family and friends. During the last years of his life, Pat was able to grow in his faith. He was especially passionate with his support in the development and growth of Impact Church in Paris, TX. He had supported them since the church’s inception and participated in many groups and fundraisers. He was always known as the person who enjoyed offering someone in need a free meal.

Pat is survived by his wife, Gail Branaugh; sons, Grant Branaugh (Tara), Andy Branaugh and three grandchildren; Gail’s children, Guy Dale, Gared Dale, Ginger Potter; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Branaugh of Yankton.
