Frances Diane Whitney Alsop, born at Portland Oregon, April 16, 1920, died at Longview Washington, July 9, 1997. She was immediately adopted at birth by Finley and Lelah Whitney. The Whitneys raised and schooled her in the Dallas Oregon area. Married Vernon F. Alsop in Vancouver, Washington, February 9, 1940 and they had two boys. During WWII, she was a welder in the Oregon shipyards. She divorced November 5, 1958. Respecting her request, ashes cast into the Nehalem River at Foley Creek, in Tillamook County OR., Sept 1997.
