A Mass of Christian Burial for Gary D. Lien will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Catholic Church, Vancouver, Wash. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lien died of leukemia Thursday in a Portland hospital. He was 54.

Born Dec. 16, 1938, in Stanley, N.D., Mr. Lien had been a Clark County resident for the past 26 years. He worked as a carpenter and belonged to the Carpenters Local 1715 in Vancouver. Mr. Lien had been active in Evergreen Little League for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; mother, Gertrude, of Vancouver; sons, Brian, Dale, Greg and Jeff, all of Vancouver; brothers, Gale and James, both of Vancouver, Tom of Battle Ground, Wash., and David of La Center, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin, who died in 1975 and a brother, Eldo, who died in 1944. Oregonian, Monday, December 21, 1992
