Mr. Hale was a lifelong resident of the Coal City area. After beginning his married life, Mr. Hale worked as a coal miner until his injury in the early 1960’s. He then started Hale’s Egg Farm and sold eggs locally. Mr. Hale worked as a horse ferrier for many years, and loved to raise and ride horses. He was a charter member of the Raleigh County Horseman’s Association.
Mr. Hale started and ran a successful nursery business and sold flowers at the Pence Springs area flea market. He loved riding ATV’s with his friends through old coal mining camps, and enjoyed working with his flowers, bird watching, and feeding wildlife. He loved his family, and he loved spending time outdoors target practicing, hunting, and fishing, but sometimes one could find him playing a friendly game of pool in his workshop.
Mr. Hale will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
