Marvin was the youngest of eighteen children of the late Durham and Lula Mae Dobson Blackwell. He and his wife, Pauline Tinsley Blackwell were married for 69 years. He was a fruit grower and father to Joyce Ann Kirkland,Kathy Johnson,Jane Pierce & Gary Blackwell. He was predeceased by an infant daughter,Nancy Kay and a granddaughter,Tara Blackwell.
