Edna Elizabeth Watson Powell Griswold, age 91, a McMinnville, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native was born December 27, 1926 and died June 1, 2018 at her residence following a five-month illness.
She was a retired bookkeeper with Warren Mechanical, member of Westwood Church of Christ and daughter of the late Jesse N. and Bedie E. Vanatta Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Willard Franklin Powell; second husband, Edgar F. Griswold; and three brothers, J.W., Thomas and Steve Watson.
Mrs. Griswold is survived by six children and spouses, Willard F. and Carolyn Ann Powell, Jr. of McMinnville, Darlene and Ralph Pierce, Jr. of McMinnville, Marlene and Phil Crawford of Pikeville, TN, Dennis Powell of McMinnville, David and Julie Powell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ann Bland of McMinnville; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two step-sons, Jeff Griswold of Murfreesboro, TN and Frank Griswold of Clearwater, FL.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 in High's Chapel with Richard O'Conner to officiate. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday until the time of service at High's.
