Mr. Charles J. Alderson, Grand Inspector General 33rd Mason, passed away, Tuesday, April 21, 2020. He was born to the late James N. Alderson and Mary Lou Chamberlain Alderson, April 9, 1931, in Maury County. He was married to the late Ethel Thomas Nevette Alderson.

He was an innovator. He was very instrumental in organizing the Columbia Stars Baseball Team, early bowling leagues in Columbia, and Nashville. He drove for State Stove Trucking Company for over 30 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Tullahoma Consistory 185 in Tullahoma. He loved the Lord. He is a founding member of True Vine M.B. Church, Columbia, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board and Trustee.

He is survived by his brothers, James Alderson, Joe (Linda) Alderson, sister Ora (James) Yokley, stepdaughter Patricia (Barry) Walton, stepson Terrence (Teresa) Nevette, sisters in law, Henrietta (Douglas) Jones, Eloise Johnson, brothers in law, James Alderson, and Wilson Armstrong, Jr., nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020, and graveside service Monday, April 27, 2020, 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens on Nashville Hwy. Words of encouragement by Pastor Kenny Anderson. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a future date.
