BUSHNELL: John G. Etter. 81, a retired carpenter of Bushnell, died at McDonough District Hospital early Sunday morning, following an extended illness. Born October 18, 1881 in Hickory Grove Township, Schuyler County, he was first married to Alta Beck, June 5, 1902. She died Dec 17, 1930 He then married Goldie Combs March 5, 1934 at Pekin, Ill. He was a member of Bushnell Methodist Church. Mr. Etter attended Schools in Fulton County. He was a resident of Bushnell the past 17 years.
Survivors besides his widow include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Elva) Runkle of Prairie City, Mrs. Melba Curless of Rushville, two sons Clair Etter of Canton, Ray Etter of Bushnell; a step son Floyd Beck of San Bernadino, California; two stepdaughters, Mrs Catherine Haffner of Walnut Grove and Mrs Berneita Pearson of Kewanee. nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren; Five brothers, Harry of Vermont, Harvey and Robert of Astoria, Earl of Frazier Michigan, William D. of Ipava and a sister Mrs. Carrie Seward of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters and two children in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM in the Bushnell Methodist Church. Burial will be in South Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Martin Funeral Home in Bushnell tonight from 6 to 8 o'clock
