Betty passed away in her home near Smithville, Texas, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born the only child of the late Arthur Eugene and Edna May Bailey. For most of her life Betty lived in Houston where she attended Lanier Junior High School, was graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and later attended the University of Houston. On June 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to Ned L. Conley also from Houston. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Ned, her two sons and their wives, Robert and Joan Conley, and Richard and Kelly Conley; three grandchildren, Shane Conley, Preston Conley, and Katelyn (Katy) Conley; one great-grandson, Kyle Conley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was a member of Bethany Christian Church for more than fifty years. She served as a deaconess, was an active member of the Prisca-Aquila Class and served on many church and class committees. She also gave much of her time to charity, was an active member of the Houston Junior Forum, the Harris County Heritage Society, and helped in the office at Bethany Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and was the President of the Nottingham Forest Garden Club. However, her greatest passion was her love for her husband and family. She taught her flock to care for and support each other as she did for them. Interment in Hollywood Cemetery.
