Evelyn Liebsch, 92, of Brookings, formerly of Volga, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Brookings Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the First Lutheran Church in Volga, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow services at First Lutheran Cemetery in Volga. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. the evening prior, Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Eidsness Funeral Chapel in Volga. Eidsness Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evelyn L. (Alexander) Liebsch, was born on October 14, 1925, in Volga, South Dakota, the daughter of Jess and Emma (Norby) Alexander.

Evelyn received her education in Lake and Brookings Counties, and was a graduate of the Volga High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Liebsch on March 2, 1945 in Volga, South Dakota. She was employed at S&L, the Village Dress Shop, Coles, Gift Gallergy, and Feinsteins in Brookings, South Dakota.

She enjoyed camping, playing cards, and working on crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and Brillo.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter-in-law Jan Liebsch (Steve) of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren: Stacy (Chris) of Indianola, IA, and Traci (Morris) of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandchildren Ryley and MacKenzie, three step-great-grandchildren: Chanda, Mitchel, and Mindy; one step-sister, Marlys Erickson of Elk Point, SD; one step-brother, Donald (Arlene) Gruseth, of Volga, SD; sister-in-law, Darlene Twedt, of WA; special family: Mike and Barb Langner, Chris, Derrick, Mckayla, Marley, Paisley, and Hetley, Zach, Janelle, and Earnest; and special friend Lynnal Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents Jess and Emma Alexander; twin sons Robert and Richard; and one step-sister, Arlene Howard.
