Mrs. Opal Nadine Littrell, 78, of Wheeling, died at 3:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon at Hedrick Medical Center, where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in failing health three months.
Mrs Littrell was born Sept. 12, 1900, at Braymer, daughter of Claude O. and Ruth Allen Long. She was married on November 26, 1922, at Chillicothe to Leon Elwood Littrell. Mr. Littrell died Sept. 3, 1974.
Mrs. Littrell was a member of the Wheeling Baptist Church. She attended school at Braymer and was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. She lived in Braymer and Chillicothe before spending her married life in Wheeling.
Survivors include two sons, Max Littrell, Chillicothe, and Benny Littrell, Wheeling; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Anna Ruth) Pickering, Atlanta, Ga.; Mrs. Hal (Mary Margaret) Norwood, Wheeling, and Mrs. John (Carol) Gossick, Kansas City; four sisters, Mrs. Faye Long, Chillicothe; Mrs. Bill (Lorene) Fifer, Chillicothe; Mrs. DeWilla Anderson, Kansas City, and Mrs. Marion (Ollie) Yeast, Oneida, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wheeling Baptist Church conducted by the Reb. Steven Pinnell. Burial will be in the Wheeling cemetery.
The casket will be moved at noon Saturday to the church and will be closed at the start of the service.
