Christopher J. Huss, 65, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Aurora,
passed away peacefully on Holy Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. He was born December 5, 1941 in Aurora, IL.
Chris attended St. Mary Grade School and graduated from Marmion Military Academy in Aurora in 1960. After graduation, he bought and operated a marina in Lake Geneva, WI, but within a few years returned to Aurora and began his 40 year career in commercial real estate development. Following his retirement from Albertson's in 2003, Chris and his son formed Huss Real Estate Consulting and Development, working throughout the southwest and midwest.
Chris was a generous, loving and humorous man devoted to his family and friends. He had a passion for golf, a love for the ocean and was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Chris' frequent laughter and warm-hearted spirit will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughter, Jenna Simanskas; his son, Matthew Huss; his sister, Carol Sauter; his brother-in-law, Hollis Sauter; sons-in-law, Lindsey Simanskas and Daniel Fanucchi; step grandchildren Anthony and Kara Simanskas; and many friends and relatives, each one very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace (Probst) Huss; his infant son, John Christopher; and grandparents, Christopher and Lena Huss and Walter and Amanda Probst.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2007 from The Daleiden Mortuary at 9:30 AM to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM. Fr. Mario Pedi, O.S.B. will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, April 13, from 2:00-8:00 PM with a Liturgical Wake Service at 7:00 PM at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N.
