We regret to announce the death of Mrs. E.R. Cole wife of Deacon Cole of this city, of heart disease who passed quietly and peacefully away to her long-looked-for home on Saturday the 11th instant, at 2 o'clock a.m. Mrs. Cole has been a patient sufferer for some eight months previous to her departure of this life and her end was not wholly unexpected either by herself or to her friends. She viewed the approaching separation from loved ones as the gateway to a better life beyond the river and passed down into the waters hopefully, trustingly and without fear. the wearied soul took its flight to a brighter, purer realms, trusting to a fathers supreme care the motherless children and their interests. Thus may we all learn to confide our earthly interests to a higher power and rise to the plain where faith shall buoy our wearied yet triumphant spirits both amid the roar of tempests and when the murmuring breezes lull us to calm repose. Mr. and Mrs. Cole were united in the holy bonds of matrimony, fifteen years ago, at Anherst, Lorain Co., Ohio, where they made their home until coming to Ellis county some five years and one half year ago. Mrs. C was 42 years of age and the mother of 6 children, three of them are now living, the eldest being seven years. The funeral services were conducted in the Presbyterian church on Sabbath last at 11 o'clock, by Rev. A.C. Pattee. A very large concourse of sympathizing friends followed the remains to their last resting place.
