William Robert Sronce III, 91, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on May 27, 2018 in Columbus.

He was born on November 10, 1926 to William Robert Sronce, Jr. and Susie (Young) Sronce in Columbus, TX. On August 1, 1946 he married Louise Sheppard.

William was self-employed for many years and later retired from the United States Postal Service as a supervisor for 35 years. He served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus, and was very active in the Colorado County 4-H Horse Club serving as an adult advisor and leader.

William enjoyed working with his cattle and traveling with his wife to cowboy mounted shooting events watching his son and grandson compete. He enjoyed working with the Magnolia Home Tours surrey rides for many years.

William is survived by his sons, W.R. "Bobby" Sronce, IV and wife Cindy of Bernardo, TX, and Donald Sronce and wife Sharon of Westhoff, TX; his sister, Margaret "Cookie" Downey of Cy-Fair, TX; brother, Frank "Hank" Sronce and wife Betty of Fort Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren, Alison Capell and husband Jeff, Travis Sronce, and Matthew Sronce and wife Stacie; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ava and Erin Curtner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Gus Sronce.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas Rev. Victor Morrison officiating.
