Asheville – James Ernest “Jim” Lindsey, Sr., 87, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at his home.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Lindsey, along with his wife, were the owners and operators of Mountain Music, and former owners of Mini-Apolis Grand Prix and Lindsey Miniature Village, both in Maggie Valley. He was a former Deputy Sheriff with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office under the Harry P. Clay administration. Mr. Lindsey was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, and a former Deacon at Reed Memorial Baptist Church.

Mr. Lindsey was the son of the late William Francis “Will” and Bessie Mae Stewart Lindsey. He was also preceded in death by his siblings.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Louise Dalton Lindsey, whom he married December 24, 1950; children: James Ernest Lindsey, Jr. and wife Debbie, Janet Lynn Lindsey Phillips, Mark Allen Lindsey and wife Jacqueline, and Rebecca Kay Lindsey McCrary and husband Thomas, all of Asheville; 11 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church, with the Dr. Billy King and Rev. Randy Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Skyview Memorial Park.
