Daisy met and married Henry Buell Hicks in London in 1919. Hicks was serving in the Canadian Army during, and shortly after, World War I. They later moved to Cranbrook BC where Hicks had lived previously. He was born in the U.S., but emigrated to Canada. Their children, John, Arthur, Sheila and Henry were born in BC.
