She was born January 19, 1916 in Baldwin, Arkansas, the daughter of Claude Theodore and Grace Leney (Carney) Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Malcolm Denton "Mack" Shofner; two brothers, Allen Emerson Brooks, and Elmer Lee Brooks; and an infant sister, Francis Pauline Brooks.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kaye Roller and Judy Lynn Patterson; three brothers, Floyd Eugene Brooks, Billy Earl Brooks and Charles Ray Brooks; and three sisters, Doris Faye Roberts, Edna Lucille Couch and Margaret Jean Murphy.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
