Mr. Donald Eldon Wallace, 83, of Barry, Illinois, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1934, in Barry, Illinois, to Eldon Loraine & Hazel May (Inman) Wallace. They preceded him in death.

He married Barbara Ruth (Bryan) Wallace on September 20, 1953, in Hannibal, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 4, 1997.

He then married Roberta Lee (Ratliff) Bryan Wallace on January 1, 2000, in Barry, Illinois. She survives in Barry.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children, Susan Kay Wallace, of Quincy, IL; Donald Richard Wallace (Janeen), of Quincy, IL; John Allen Wallace, of Burlington, IA; and Michael Bryan Wallace (Michael), of Barry, IL; 5 grandchildren, LeighAnna Lynn Hill (Tommy), of Pleasant Hill, IL; Kristina Michelle Rhea (Casey), of Camp Point, IL; Stephen Michael Wallace, of Quincy, IL; Bryan Scott Gottman (Meagan), of Gilbert, AZ; and Nicole Renee Hollin (Sean), of Peoria, AZ; 8 great grandchildren, Hannah Rae Hill of Pleasant Hill, IL; Easton Allen Rhea, Hudson Thomas Rhea & Lincoln Beckett Rhea (June 2018), all of Camp Point, IL; Jacob Curtis Hollin & Gracelyn Ann Hollin, of Peoria, AZ; and Azaryah Wild Gottman & Levi Brody Gottman, of Gilbert, AZ; and 5 step-children.

Don was born and raised in Barry, IL, an only child. He graduated from Barry High School in 1952. He played the trombone in the band.

He worked in the movie theater and then the rest of his career at Central Stone Rock Quarry in Florence, IL and retired from there in 1999.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He owned a river cabin down on Cincinnati Landing and enjoyed many summers boating and fishing there.

He and Barbara traveled the 48 contiguous states on their motorcycle. He was a lifelong member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and the American Motorcycle Association (AMA).

After Barbara passed away, he married Roberta and they enjoyed becoming snowbirds and wintering in South Texas. They traveled to Alaska and enjoyed their camper at several campgrounds.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry.

Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry.
