Michael Robert Bailey, 65, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1952 to Robert and Joan (Tuttle) Bailey. He married Phyllis (Dufault) Bailey on August 4, 1972.
Mike graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1970. He loved to fish and do woodworking, making many pieces of log furniture and oak furniture for the family and his home. Mike loved to travel UP north to fish and watch the elk. He had worked for Game Time and in construction. Mike was an avid Reading Ranger fan, loved the Tigers, coached summer baseball and was a Boy Scout leader.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, Mike is survived by his children Scot (Heather) Bailey and Kevin (Nicole) Bailey all of Reading and Brian (Kim Bennett) of DeWitt. He is blessed with grandchildren Austin Hoath, Brennan Bailey, Paige Bailey, Aiden Bailey, Marco Bailey, Thomas Bailey and Raymond Bailey; step grandchildren, Laiken Davis, Lucas Davis and Sierra (Jacob) Mason and great granddaughter, Addilyn; step mother, Myrna Bailey of Hillsdale and sisters, Judy Zaleske (Sam Lee) of Chicago and Barbara Southworth of Hillsdale.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joan Bailey; grandparents, Roy and Margaret Tuttle and Herbert and Audra Bailey.
A Celebration of Life honoring Michael Robert Bailey will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Reverend Alan Fenstermaker officiating. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery in Reading. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, May 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Reading High School Athletics.
