He was united in marriage to Clara May Schwennesen on December 24, 1913. To this union, three known children were born: Sarah, Robert Edward, and Franklin Richard Crider.

Rev. Crider Rites Held at Acton
Funeral services for the Rev. Ralph J. Crider, aged 58, former pastor of Brooklyn and Morgantown Methodist churches, were held at Acton Methodist Church this morning at 11 o'clock, with burial at Acton. Services were also held Sunday at Poseyville.
He was serving his fourth year at Poseyville Methodist Church at the time of his death.
Surviving are the widow and a daughter, Ruth; two children having preceded him in death.
Entering the ministry in 1920, he was appointed to serve Morgantown church and later served Taylorsville, Hartsville, and Sandusky. In 1927 he was appointed to Brooklyn where he served two years. Other appointments which followed were Duggar, Wheatland, Whiteland, Acton, Ellettsville, St. Paul, Calvary, New Albany, Oden and Poseyville.
