Hester's burial in Greenwood Cemetery is known only through a reference in Foote Family: Comprising the Genealogy and History of Nathaniel Foote of Wethersfield, Conn. and His Descendants, Abram W. Foote, Marble City Press-The Tuttle Company, Rutland, VT, 1907, 3 Vols., Vol II, page 767, which states: "Soon after the Civil War she m. Colonel Clapsaddle and moved to a farm between Wilson and Youngstown, N.Y. He d. soon after and she moved to Tonawanda, N.Y., where she lived with her sons, Lafayette and De Los, until her death May 17, 1877. She is bur. in the Burnett lot in the Wilson Cemetery."
