Wayne Curtis Bare

Wayne Curtis Bare, 81, of Elk River Road, Elk Park, NC died Monday, April 26, 2004 at his residence.

A native of Avery County, he was a son of the late Jess William and Ethel Turbyfill Bare.
He was retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service to his country and then he retired from the Citrus Plant in Bartow, FL.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Stewart, and Johnny Bare, and a sister, Shirley Hicks.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Murphy Bare of the home; sister, Evelyn Pauline Treece and her husband, Tom, of Black River, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.

Interment and graveside services will follow on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Guinn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Benny Norris, Denton Hicks, Donald Bare, Earl Turbyfill, Buddy Davis, Harry Bare, Danny Harmon, and Harold Bare. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Avery County, Mitchell St., Newland, NC 28657.
