George Nick Chocas passed away in his sleep. Born March 24, 1948 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Nick and Georgia Chocas, he was a devoted son and brother. George graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in the top 2% of his class, and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Wyoming in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Management. He was employed by Kennecott Copper and later the Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Georgia, Midvale; sister, Beth, and brother-in-law, Michael Johnson; nephew, Theros (Cindy) Johnson; great-niece, Elleni; niece, Megan (Rick) Maciel of West Jordan; aunts and uncles: Steve Paulos, Midvale; Fay (Bob) Cumberledge, Holladay; Jennie Chocas, Jim (Jerry) Chocas, John Chocas, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Gust Chocas, Madison, Wisconsin. A loyal friend and generous uncle, George's giving spirit stays secure in our hearts. His brilliant mind and quick wit, gave him a large cycle of friends. His time with us will never be long enough. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 12 noon at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 5335 Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, may donate to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Restoration Fund. May his memory be eternal.
