Williamsport -- ROBERT GARFIELD DEAVERS, 96, of Rt. 1, died Monday at the Washington County Hospital following a long illness. Born in Page County, Va., he was the son of John and Angeline F. Young Deavers.
He was employed until his retirement at the W.D. Byron Tannery in Williamsport. He was a member of the Calvary Temple in Williamsport.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Maggie Walker Deavers; brother, Harm Deavers, NJ; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport.
