JAMES ASHTON, 91, of East Gate Nursing Home, 198 Waterman Ave., died Aug. 10 at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. Mr. Ashton had been active for 18 years in the social activities at his nursing home.
He leaves no known survivors.
in a separate article written about his funeral, "Parents unknown, birthplace unknown. James was mildly retarded and lived under state supervision for most of his life."
The nursing home had put ads in the local newspaper looking for family members and received no response. The funeral home donated its services.
