Ray Thomas Cardwell

Ray Cardwell, age 89, of Sevierville, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018.

He was a hardworking gentleman that cared deeply for others.

Ray would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you were in need.

He enjoyed feeding the birds and animals near his home. Ray will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Hazel Franklin Cardwell; parents, Robert and Virgie Cardwell; son and daughter-in-law, John Cardwell and Nadine (Hall) Cardwell; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Keys) Cardwell; son-in-law, Carl Lindsey; brothers-in-law, Bill Norton and Bill Evans; sisters, Birdie Evans, Pauline Helton, Doris Hardin, and Belvie Cardwell; and his brother, Clayton Cardwell.

Survivors Sons and Daughter-in-law: Bob and Judy Cardwell, Sam Cardwell and Jerry Cardwell; Daughters and Sons-in-law: Brenda Lindsey, Sherry Cardwell, Judy and Grady Green, Jr., Regina and Tony Collins; 17 grand children and 29 great-grandchildren; Sisters and Brother-in-law, Blanche Norton, Lucille and I.B. Ogle; Numerous nieces and nephews; and Special friend, Darrell Hicks.

The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to Joe and Pam Henry for their friendship and thoughtfulness.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday, May 17th with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Loveday officiating.

Family and friends will meet 11 AM Friday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, Pigeon Forge for the graveside service and interment.
