Francis Dean McGraw, 59, passed away Sunday May 13, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional hospice House after a 2 ½ year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Son of the late Arley and the late Lois Poole McGraw.

Graduate of Cowpens High School and Spartanburg Technical College, an active member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church.

A career in welding until becoming disabled in 2012.

Dean was a free spirit who loved the outdoors, playing his guitar, singing, riding horses and living a country life. His greatest love after his love for God was his son, Tyler McGraw.

In addition to his son, survived by two sisters, Marilyn Bedsworth (Everette) and Marie Swofford (Sherman); brother, Tom McGraw (Mary); nieces, Michelle Champion, Anne Plantin, Elizabeth McGowan; nephew, Josh Holland; great nieces, Brooke Mack, Meredith Mack, and Ella Plantin; great nephew, Jack Plantin; special friends and caregivers, Brenda Murph and Diane McGraw; and his dog Ruby.

The family extended a special thank you to the medical staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home for their loving care the past few weeks.

Dean will be greatly missed by all who loved him. “Go Rest High on that Mountain, Dean”. We will see you again.

Memorial service was 2:00 p.m., Sunday May 20, 2018 at Bobo Funeral Chapel, Rev. David Sellars officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be sent to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
