Ora Clarence Stossivich, 73, of Mason City, died Sunday, 4 Mar 2018, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, 9 Mar 2018, in the Wedgewood Room at The Manor, 4 3rd St. NW, Mason City.
Ora was born on 4 Jan 1945, the son of Anthony Michael “Mike” and Oval (Scobee) Stossivich in Mason City. He married Robin Gettig on 12 Feb 2000 in Sister Lakes, MI.
After attending Mason City High School, Ora enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War for six years on the USS Ranger, Hornet, Curatuck and Kitty Hawk.
Ora was a retired truck driver who enjoyed fishing and hunting; especially in Sarasota, FL, where he called home for many years. He cherished and loved the time spent with his family. He liked teaching his nephews Bob, Mike, Jeff and Doug various activities such as boxing, unloading trucks, fishing, fixing cars and more.
Ora is survived by his wife, Robin of Mason City; a sister, Karen (Stossivich) Vaage-LaVern of Mason City; a brother, Keith (Clarice) Harriott of Lakeland, FL; a brother-in-law, Larry Zimmerman of Mason City; three nephews, Michael (Andrea) Zimmerman of Lake Elmo, MN, Doug (Karen) Zimmerman of Altoona, IA and Jeff (Beth) Vaage of Pleasant Hill, IA; and a niece-in-law, Dee Ann Vaage of Milford, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Stossivich; mother, Oval Toland; a sister, Linda Zimmerman; a nephew, Pastor Robert Carl Vaage; and several siblings and extended family.
