He served our country in the Navy. He was a barber by profession. He had 4 children and was married to Dorothy Olive McClave.

JOHN HENRY MCCLAVE
John Henry McClave, 73, of Lexington Park died at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station hospital on June 1,1991. Born in Olive Hill, Ky., on April 25, 1918, he was the son of the late Russell C. and Sophia Newman McClave. Mr. McClave was a graduate of Olive Hill High School. In 1940, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served until his retirement in 1960. In 1960 he opened and operated Mac's Barber Shop in Great Mills until 1970. In 1970 he went to work at the naval air station at Patuxent River until retiring in 1983. Mr. McClave was a member of St. Mary's Elks Lodge 2092 of Lexington Park, Fleet Reserve Branch 93 of Lexington Park and Veterans of Foreign Wars 2632 California. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. McClave, whom he married in 1946; four children, Cheryl B. Crowden of Charleston, S.C., Jan M. Salter of Chippewa Falls, Wis., Bart R. McClave of Lexington Park and Gary McClave of Avenue; three sisters, Mary McClave of LaCenter, Ky., Mae Wells and Pat McClave of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Charles McClave of Charleston, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Lendel Summers. Prayers were held June 4 at the Brinsfield Funeral Home. Services were June 5 at the naval air station chapel at Patuxent River with Lt. Thomas D. Tostenson officiating. Interment followed in Trinity Memorial Gardens with Edward Balicheski, Joseph Cannetti, Kenneth Greenwell, Edward Gutzler, Cecil Kidd and Jack Payne serving as pallbearers Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. McClave's memory to the Lexington Park Rescue Squad, Lexington Park, Md. 20653.
