Jennie Christine Bardwell, age 79, Clearbrook, passed away at the Clearwater Memorial Hospital, in Bagley, on Friday, December 21, 1984. Mrs. Bardwell was born in Norway, on July 21, 1905, to parents Simon and Pauline Brein. In 1906, she came with her family to the United States, and first settled in North Dakota. The Brein's then homesteaded in Salol, MN., in 1908.
Her marriage to Ernest Bardwell, took place in Clearbrook, on April 7, 1927. After marriage, the Bardwells moved to Niagara, ND., for three years; to Bagley, for one year; and in 1931, moved to Clover Township, Clearwater County. They retired in 1960 and moved into Clearbrook. Mr. Bardwell passed away June 5, 1982. Mrs. Bardwell moved into the Good Samaritan Center, in Clearbrook, in 1983. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Brethren Church of Clearbrook.
Survivors inclulde the following children: Elaine Anderson of Clearbrook, Violet (Mrs. Roger) Hagen of Clearbrook, Adeline (Mrs. Edgar) Kaehn of Clearbrook, Fern (Mrs. Wayne) Jackson of Clerbrook, Norma (Mrs. Burnett) Sims of Bagley, Sylvia (Mrs. Dennis) Johnson of Bagley, Glen of Clearbrook, Ray of Elk River, MN.; two brothers: Leif Brein of Roseau, and Alvin Brein of Clearbrook; two sisters: Mabel Butler of Salol, and Helen Sears of Mesa, AZ.; twenty four grandchildren; and twenty seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bardwell was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Palmer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 26, in the Elim Lutheran Brethren Church of Clearbrook. The Rev. Herman Engebretson, officiated, and burial was in the Friendship Cemetery, rural Clearbrook, with the Cease Funeral Home, of Bagley, in charge of arrangements.
