She was survived by her son, Phil and his wife, Mary; her son Stephen and his wife Nancy, and their daughters, Sierra and Jaiden; and her brother Lester; sister-in-law Verna; as well as Charlotte, Phyllis, Debbie, Barb her nieces; Dale, Brian, Steve, Kelly, Marty her nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Clara was born to Henry and Rebecca Bauman, in Floradale, Ontario. She had two brothers, Orton Bauman (deceased) of Elmira, Ontario and Lester Bauman of Elkhart, Indiana.
She earned her RN at KW Hospital in the class of 1951, and as a young nurse served in the Middle East with the Mennonite Central Committee from 1953-1955. Returning to the KW area, she married Donald Groff of Kitchener, Ontario on October 6th, 1962. They raised two sons, Philip Robert Groff, and Stephen David Groff. She worked as a child-care worker for Family and Children’s Services of KW for more than two decades, and was an active member of the congregation of Calvary Memorial United Church.
Family and friends were received at the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. Breslau 519 904 0400 on Thursday, May 10th, 2:00-4:00pm and 6:30-8:30pm. The funeral service was held on Friday, May 11th at 11:00 am.
