Son of William G. and Mary (Reynolds) Schauffler. Graduated Williams College, 1867; Andover Theological Seminary, 1871. Married Julia Baker at St. Moritz, Switzerland in 1887. Awarded the Doctor of Divinity in 1903 from New York University.

Pastor of the Congregational Church at Brookfield and Olivet Church in New York City.Superintendent and President of the New York City Mission. Recognized leader in organized Sunday School work.
