Anna Laura Jenkins, age 89 of Del Rio, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

She was the daughter of Reverend Bill and Mary Ledford. She gave her life to Christ at a very young age. She was one of the oldest members of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher, loved singing in the choir, working in her flower garden, and going shopping with her girls and sister. Her favorite joys were the Lord, her family, and spending time with her pets.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Wade Jenkins; son, Arnold Jenkins; daughter, Ruby Mae Ledford; granddaughter, April Haney; granddaughter-in-law, Beth Reece; brothers, George, Floyd, Troy, and James Ledford, and Millard and Kenneth Orr; and sisters, Gladis Brooks, Bessie Cashen, Edith Jackson, Lilie Ledford, and Grace Orr.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Lee Jenkins, Billy (Lucille) Jenkins, Marie (Remus) Gentry, Louise Jenkins (Doug), Patty Jenkins, and Linda Hunt who she raised; sisters, Jenny Mae Metcalf and Hattie Bailey; grandchildren, Karen Salyer, Kenneth Lee Jenkins (Karen), Robie Jenkins, Tammy (Mike) Ramsey, Julie Jenkins (James), Junior Romines, Raymond (Ernestine) Romines, Angela Haney, Missy Jenkins (Joey), Lydia (Buster) Smith, Stephen (Pebbles) McKeehan, Emily (Mark) Hannah, Jermiah (Ashley) Moore, Travis Campbell, Anna Ballard, and Caroline (Ron) Brady; sixty great-grandchildren including Brooke Ellison who was so dear to her heart; twelve great-great grandchildren; may nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. She will be missed by many family and friends.

The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the staff at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Caughron officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 11, 2018 in the Stokely Cemetery.
