News reached our city Monday of the death of Mrs. Volley S. Williams, of Ada, which occurred very suddenly Monday afternoon. She had given birth about a week ago to a fine baby boy and was getting along fine at noon Monday and her husband had returned to work at the store and soon was recalled home in haste and before medical aid could reach her, death had occurred.

Mrs. Williams was the eldest daughter of Mr. Sidney Herndon and Mrs. Robert E. Lee, of this city. She was a good christian lady and very popular in her native home. The body was brought here for interment, arriving Tuesday morning.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 at the First Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Norris Gilliam, pastor. The floral offerings were very beautiful.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Baptist church of Idabel.

She is survived by her husband, four children, Dorothy Jean, Kenneth Carl, Elma Louise and Robert. Parents and several brothers and sisters as follows: Clyde and Sidney Herndon, Jr., of Tulsa; Lee Herndon, of Allen; Mrs. Carl Wright Johnson, of San Antonio, Texas; Elizabeth, Mary Louise and Quintis Herndon, of this city.
