John Ewing, 78, a native of Rossville and a retired farmer, died at his home here Monday evening about 6:15. His death came as a result of a kidney ailment, after an illness of a week. He was born in Rossville, January 15, 1862, the son of George and Emma Ewing. He was a charter member of the Rossville Odd Fellows lodge, now abandoned.
Survivors include five brothers: William Ewing, Flora; Albert and Morton Ewing, Lafayette; Kelley Ewing, Americus, and Thomas Ewing of Rossville, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Blue of Chicago.
Funeral services will be conducted from the L. E. Moore Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, with interment in Rossville cemetery.
