Sarah Allison was born the 15th day of June, A.D. 1816, in Hancock, West Virginia; was married to John Fowler the 3rd day of September, 1835; came to Sauk county, Wisconsin in 1855, where they resided until the spring of 1861, thence they removed to Richland county which has been their home ever since. Sarah Fowler died February 12, 1897. Four years ago her husband preceded her to the better land. She, with her husband, was converted in early life and joined the Methodist church, of which she has been a faithful member for over fifty-five years. Seven children were born to them, three of whom survive her. "Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord."

As clear as a bell,
As dry as a herring,
As deep as a well,
As light as a feather,
As hard as a rock,
As stiff as a poker,
As calm as a clock,
As green as a gosling,
As brisk as a bee -
And now let me stop,
Lest you weary of me.
