George was the first child of James and Sally's to be born in the State of Georgia. He was named for President George Washington who had recently visited Georgia on his 13 colonial state tour. George married Susannah Allen on January 11, 1810 in Morgan County, GA. For 32 years, George was a minister in the Primitive Baptist Church. He was a member of Sandy Creek Church in Morgan County until 1825. George and Susannah then moved to Walton Co GA in the mid 1820's. He was also a wealthy planter who owned 1000 acres in Good Hope (Blasingames's District) of Walton County. He owned an additional farm in Clarke County and a grist mill on Barber's Creek in Eastville, Oconee County.

George and Susannah had 15 children:
