COL (Ret) Ronald Joseph Beretta, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 1, 2018. He was born in Bedford, Indiana, on June 27, 1935, to the late Bruno and Gertrude (Endris) Beretta.

Ronald married Wanda Ann Mize in 1955 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford, Indiana.

Ronald retired as a full Colonel from the National Guard in 1990 with 36 years of service. Upon his retirement, he assisted in researching and writing Indiana’s Longest Arm.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Wanda, of 62 years, and 7 children, Gregory, Timothy (Susan), Kimberly (Chris) Dolne, Deborah (Paul) Dodson, Mark (Lisa), Anthony, and Matthew (Kelli), 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, two brothers, Philip (Mary) and Victor (Marilyn), and one sister, Rita (Bob) Screen.

Ronald was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Allen, and a sister, Jacqueline Jean Dwyer.

He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery~Indianapolis
