LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at a 10:00 a.m. Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Harold Trahan, age 89, who passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, assisted by Rev. Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.

Mr. Trahan was a native and resident of Carencro for most of his life. In his early years, he was a farmer and worked at co-op until 1957 where he retired and worked as a Truck Driver with Evangeline Maid Bakery for thirty-one years. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-seven years, Mary Lou Breaux Trahan of Lafayette; one son, Russell James Trahan and his wife, Krista, of Carencro; one daughter, Vernice Broussard and her husband, Milton, Jr., of Carencro; two step sons, Russell Joseph Louviere of Houston, TX and Jerry James Louviere and his wife, Jean, of FL; five grandchildren, Shane Trahan and his wife, Kelly, Chad Broussard, Dana B. Prados, Lance Louviere and Tiffany Louviere; six great grandchildren, Skye Trahan, Seth Trahan, Maci Louviere, Tyler Prados, Shane Louviere and Dylan Louviere; one great-great grandchild, Ahnalyse Louviere and one on the way, Ryker Louviere; one brother, Calvin Trahan of Carencro; and one sister, Helen T. Wettaw and her husband, Richard, of Houston, TX.

He was preceded in death by his widow of his first marriage and the mother of his children, Dorothy Granger Trahan; his parents, Leo Trahan and the former Elida Cormier both natives of Carencro; one brother, Leo Trahan, Jr.; and one sister, Beanna T. Savoie.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Russell Trahan, Milton Broussard, Jr., Shane Trahan, Chad Broussard, Tyler Prados and Seth Trahan.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue, Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
