Herbert H. Abbott, 85 of Colbath Street, passed away Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Mineral Springs health Care in North Conway, NH.
He was born July 16, 1929 in Lyme, NH the son of the later freeman A and Sarah Hannaford and had lived in Freedom, NH for many years before moving to Conway, NH in 1973.
Herbert had worked as a mill worker for International Paper Company for several years.
He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte (Burgess) Abbott in 2013 a grandson Wayne Varney of Lowell, MA a stepson George Webster, Jr. Of Conway, NH as well as his brother Francis Abbott and his sisters Louise Abbott and Elizabeth Libby
Herbert is survived by his step daughter Marguerite “Peggy” Ruskey and her husband William, Lowell, MA, and his grandchildren, Cyndi Varney-Bray and her husband Robert; Kelly Barchard and her husband Donald; Holly Ruskey; and William Ruskey Jr. as well as her 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a sister, Viola Abbott of Wolfeboro, NH.
Calling hours will be Friday October 31, 2014 from 2-4pm at Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee, NH. Funeral services will be 2:00Pm, Saturday November 1, 2014 at the Conway Village Congregational Church, Main Street, Conway, NH. Burial will be in the Conway Village Cemetery, Conway, NH.
